My GO-TO Jewelry Appraiser!

First of all, I generally don't post reviews on websites. However, I REALLY needed to post this one. Hopefully this posting will make searching for an appraiser easier for others. If there was a rating higher than 5 on this website, I would without reservation give it to Beth Doughty and New England Gem Appraisals.I had a possible case of fraud where I was sold a diamond by a large jewelry chain. Another jeweler told me that the diamond appeared to be a lower quality than what was shown on its certificate. We desperately needed to verify the validity of the certificate we had received, as the diamond in question was a very high cost item.Due to the conflicting statements, I started doing a lot of research on the internet for a reputable independent jewelry appraiser in my area to get this matter settled. After reading reviews on various websites, I decided to give Beth Doughty a try.Beth�s thorough analysis and appraisal of the diamond proved that we did indeed have something fishy going on. Her appraisal definitely did not match the certificate we had in our hands.Beth could have at that point, just charged us for the appraisal and sent us on our way. But she did not do that. She took the extra time to go online to verify the certificate was from the Gemological Institute of America. She then showed us under the microscope exactly what were the differences between the diamond and the certificate ...all of this with no extra charge. With Beth's help, we were able to go back to the jewelry store and get the matter resolved to our satisfaction.I have never met someone so dedicated, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly to her customers.
