About Johnson, NE
In the year 2000, the southeast Nebraska village of Johnson in Nemaha County had a population of just 280 residents. Fondly referred to as "Simply the Best," this friendly small town meets the needs of all its citizens, then throws in a few frills to top it off. Governed by a village board that meets once a month, Johnson's varied businesses include the First National Bank of Johnson, the Johnson Quik Stop, and A & B Porta Potty Service. Johnson is also home to the Johnson Brock Public School, whose stated mission and purpose are to prepare all students to become successful and responsible citizens. For its recreational needs, Johnson boasts a public park, three nearby golf courses, baseball/softball fields, camp grounds, and facilities for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Johnson also hosts the popular Father's Day Chicken Barbecue on an annual basis.
