My child too has bounced back and forth from rooms. The folks are nice, but I never know what room they are going to be in when I get there. There have been a couple of instances were we have lost things and cannot find them. I found that frustrating. Some of the teachers I feel are young and dont have the paitence for these kids. I have never doubted whether they are being taken care of, but I have been concerned with the shilting of rooms, not able to find things, and the comments some of the teachers have made. ...read more

Very poor leadership, and an ever rotating door of teachers. My child bounced between three classrooms depending on how crowded her registered class was. There was a recent lice episode but we didn't receive any communication because my daughter was constantly shifting rooms. When I came to pick her up, I found kids blankets and jackets left piled on the floor for lack of space; of course making the episode that much worse. The teacher shrugged and said there aren't any other options because of space, and that the teacher can't continually go between classrooms for things like coats and blankets. Being new to the community, I didn't know what other options there were, or just how poorly the community views this particular school and it's leadership. I have now found a private school for the same money that is a five star program with HALF the teacher;student ratio and a teacher that my child adores. After 9 months of patiently waiting with Sunshine House through "growing pains" for their staff I finally had to put my child in a better environment. Please research surrounding schools... there are better options for the same money. ...read more

We have been a part of the Sunshine family since 2007. My son started in the three year old room with Ms. Karen. He had a difficult time transitioning from a home daycare to a more structured environment, but Ms. Karen was able to find common ground (buttons of all things!) and build a strong relationship that allowed him excel in school. And yes, insaid school. The sunshine house is so much more than a daycare, they are a family and give an exceptional education to all types of learners. Ms. Karen was able to move to the TK (prekindergarten) room with my son's class and taught them hands on approaches to help them grasp skills needed for kindergarten. My son's first quarter skills in kindergarten were "mastered" within the first week of school. Ms. Karen is amazing! She is still there too! My daughter joined the infant room, and sadly will graduated to kindergarten this year. The care, love, and education she has received is unmatched. Robyn, the current director has been there the entire time we have been part of their family. She is understanding, compassionate, fair, and ALWAYS puts the kids first. Her open door policy is great, and the overall atmosphere is homey. Sometimes I kick back in the office before I pick up the kids and enjoy the company of our second family. I highly recommend you check them out! And, they give teacher discounts! ...read more

This was absolutely the worst child care center I had ever encountered. The Director, don't know if they have a new one, was horrendous. The teachers seemed very apathetic to the students and there was a huge turn over. In addition, on two occassions, I witnessed the Director being very disrepectful to parents who pay the childcare center tuition, but she spoke to them as if it were a public school. I had the opportunity to try another childcare because I was so displeased with this location that we contacted the HQ. We were given another location on Davis Taylor, which was AWESOME. BUT I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO REGISTER THEIR CHILD AT THIS LOCATION. THE CHILDREN ARE NOT TREATED WITH LOVING CARE AND THE CENTER DIRECTOR HAS NO RESPECT FOR PARENTS AT ALL. ...read more
