About Haw River, NC
Haw River is a part of the Piedmont Plateau region of North Carolina known for its history in the textile industry. Major attractions include the Haw river itself, which is used for fishing, kayaking, and rafting. Home to the Cone Mills Corporation, a textile manufacturer, Haw River was for a time after World War II the largest producer of corduroy in the world. Haw River has its own elementary, middle, and high school, but is part of the larger Burlington-Alamance school district. There are two public parks, the Haw River Municipal and Red Slide Parks. If you are in Haw River one of the best places to visit is the Haw River Trail. There has been three state governors from Alamance county, and all have hailed from Haw River.
