Barbara Whitley is amazing. These reviews don't sound like her. I suffered from dependency/codependency and she helped me to think in new ways. I had suffered from childhood trauma that I ended up dragging into my marriage and my whole life. She helped me to see the light and helped me to value myself and know my self-worth. She told me to get the book called "Codependent No More" and this book changed my life. Two years ago I called and had items pickup 3 times from my home to donate to the salvation army. This year I have called several times to donate items and can not get the lady to call me back for a pick up date for items (764-1041). Customer Service is really not helpful. My wife and I went to see Mrs. Whitley, I was asked to leave the room..sounds familiar right. She was trying to lead the two of us away from each other the whole meeting. She actually said that "you don't like" thing as well. Wish I would have read this prior to going on Friday. My wife was upset by the meeting, and we are going to cancel our Thursday appointment. Well, I now know why Mrs. Whitley is the only counselor who takes night time appointments. People want to go at night, and this keeps her employed even though she is not providing the service which she is paid to do. She just gets people in a fight and sends them to a psychiatrist. My wife and I were sent to her through Military One Source. Worst mistake we made. She is obviously medicated. You can tell by her speaking and the way she looks lost. Session One: She sided with my wife, session two she contradicted everything she said in session one---sided with me, and told me that it was obvious that "You don't love your wife---but I can fix this---I have seen it all". DO NOT go to her for marriage counseling. She was literally trying to start a fight between me and my wife. No joke, she said that I needed to leave the room and then told my wife that she was right about everything because she was a feminist. So after telling my wife that she shouldn't spend so much money in the beginning of the meeting---she changed her story to he shouldn't mind if you spend all of his money. The issue was $300 purses, she said go buy more---she had 6 purses that she had bought in the same month---I just wanted the habitual buying to stop.
