About Hardin, MT
Calling themselves “a city with reason”, Hardin is a small town in the state of Montana. It was first settled by cattle ranchers for its close proximity to the Yellowstone River and Bighorn River. Bighorn Canyon is one of the major attractions and allows for a majestic view of the water below. Hardin is also on the border of the Crow Indian Reservation that has two mountain ranges containing Pryor and Bighorn Mountains, complete with many more rolling hills and glorious peaks. Hardin is largely agricultural but also has a big coal mining industry. In the southern region of Hardin one can find the Little Bighorn Battlefield, where the Northern Plains Indians defeated Custer and the U.S. Army. Hardin is located in south-central Montana, 45 miles southeast of Billings on the I-90.
