Mountain House Restaurant

Mountain House is a family restaurant with a wide menu. Their reputation is for giving very large portions. I have been there 4 times, twice for dinner and twice for breakfast. The first time I had the lasagna. Having had many restaurant lasagnas, I found Mountain House's to be too tomato-y. It is advertised as "four-cheese" but cheese was not really featured as I ecpected. The second dinner was Country Fried Steak. This was much better. The batter was light and crisp with the signature juiciness that makes this dish delicious. The accompanying vegetables were acceptable. For breakfast, I had the waffles both times. They were light and fluffy with a good crispness. The sausage was so-so. Friends have commented that the omelets had good balance and fresh fillings. Overall, Mountain House is a fine place to dine.
