Novus Development

Recently worked with this company and had a great experience. From the research I've done, it seems there have been many satisfied clients. Sadly, it is the ones who are openly angry who take the time to broadcast negative views more often. The properties I have visited have proven to be high quality and located in desirable areas. Being a business owner myself, I understand it is impossible to please everyone and get good reviews 100% of the time when you deal with all different types of personalities and viewpoints. That being said, I would recommend Novus, and have been a very happy client so far! ...read more

This is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived at. I have lived in buildings older than these with only minor incidents and those were usually addressed in a timely fashion. The windows here do not have proper locks and when you complain about it you are told it is up to code (found out that is not the case). Not a single door works properly, their solution, ""well you can take them off yourself and we will be more than happy to come and get them."" You complain about a potential leak in the apartment above you and are told you're crazy then 3 months later your bathroom is flooded. The real kicker is when your car that is legally parked and properly license is towed from the parking lot and it costs you $300 to get it out of impound. Everyone that works here lies and someone else is ALWAYS responsible. When I asked why my car was towed the response was, ""It's the county doing it."" When I called the county they had no idea what I was talking about. They don't tow cars on private property. Cedar Creek's response, the number to their lawyer, who by the way had no idea they were even her client! I have a feeling that the county building inspector may need to get involved. Maybe the Post Dispatch should be called as well... ...read more

I have worked with Novus representatives on two occasions, concerning two lease sites, and have found them to be both unprofessional and dishonest. You will find more integrity working with a used car salesman. Believe me, their properties are average quality and their terms are egregious. They have also apparently been involved in some pretty underhanded development schemes, and there are lots of angry people all over the internet who have many choice words for the CEO Jonathan Browne. ...read more

Realty Referral & Holding Service

By Don Sewels

I'll be honest in stating that I didn't know what a holding service was until I dug further and found out it is a company that can hold my license rather than me sending it to the real estate board. By goint to realty referral, I saved a lot of time and money. Maybe even my license. Glad I found you. Thanks for the help. ...read more

If you're interested in eminent domain, want to be told one thing but then get another, like ongoing requests for more money, and don't mind extensive delays and substantial bumbling, then this is the developer for you! Sunset Hills has forever put these guys into the memory bank of failed development and ransacked neighborhoods. Their mostly empty Market at McKnight provides ongoing testimony to what happens when they do get a project launched. Their inability to get buyers for Laumier Place condos demonstrates their complete lack of understanding of the marketplace. Don't take my work for it. Review the archives of the South County Times, the St. Louis Post Dispatch, and the St. Louis Business Journal. These are amateurs not to be trusted. ...read more

Looking to Recycle Electronics? Try Best Buy's e-cycle Program

My husband and I were clearing a few things out of our basement over the weekend and came across the graveyard of electronics. You know what I mean. The pile of electronics that quit working and weren't worth repairing or items that were replaced with newer, better functioning models. It seems a lot of people have their own version of this somewhere in their homes. A Best Buy location was on the way to the thrift store where we planned to drop off some other items, so it was the perfect time to try this service. According to Best Buy's website: Regardless of where you bought it, what brand it is, or how old it is: bring it to us. We'll make sure it's properly and safely recycled. It's all part of our consumer electronics recycling programs. And we'll take just about anything electronic, including TVs, DVD players, computer monitors, audio and video cables, cell phones, and more. Most things are recycled absolutely free, with a few restrictions. I found the process was easy and the associates were friendly. Just inside the door there was a bin for cables, jewel cases, CDs, ink and other items. The greeter put a recycle sticker on all of our products (satellite dish receivers, blender with no glass parts, inkjet printer with ink cartridges removed) and sent us to the customer service desk. We dropped the items off there and were on our way. There is a fee for TVs and monitors, but Best Buy gives a gift card in return. So I'm making a pledge not to let the pile accumulate again. And I'm hoping you'll be able to deal with your electronics graveyard as well! Cathy Brosius is the owner of Arranged Smartly, a home staging and organizing company.  Cathy and her team are working smartly for homeowners and real estate agents throughout the St. Louis region.  She has also been interviewed on KMOV's Great Day St. Louis, providing tips on staging a home for sale. ...read more
