Eat Hummus Every Day to Keep the Doctor Away

Hummus continues to grow in popularityaround the world as a snack enjoyed with everything from veggies to pita chips. It’s also great as a complement for any meal, as a bagel spread, part of a Middle Eastern feast with falafel, gyros and tabbouli, or even pasta. Not only is hummus delicious any time of day, it is truly good for you… when it’s not made with all of the preservatives packaged hummus can contain. Sinceit’s a vegan food free of gluten, dairy and nuts, people with specific food allergies and dietary restrictions can enjoy hummus without worry. What goes into great Hummus?    Reallythe fewer ingredients it has, the better it will tasteand the healthier it will be. Our original hummus only has three main ingredients: chickpeas, tahini, and lemon juice, with extra virgin olive oil with a parsley garnish on top. Good, natural food never needs to be hidden in preservatives. What makes hummus so good for you? As part of the legume family,chickpeas, the main ingredient in hummus, are known for their high nutritional value. They’re rich infiberand full ofprotein, help to lower cholesterol and don’t contain any saturated fats. Aren’t sold yet? They’re also chock-full of vitamins and minerals including folic acid, zinc and magnesium. Tahini, also known as sesame seed paste, is another essential hummus ingredient. It contains lecithin, which can protect the body from the harmful effects of toxins and decrease cholesterol levels. It also works to properly absorb amino acids. Plus, it’s loaded with calcium and Omega 3, the good fat, along with plenty of carbohydrates and protein. That’s a powerful little seed! Food Stamps

Why is it that gas stations are allowed take food stamps?  What is so nutritious about the pop, candy, and chips that they sell?  And why they wont approve a fish market / restaurant because of some rule?  The ultimate reason for the food stamp program is to provide low income people with nutritional food\.  Chime in or email the department of agriculture and tell them that Mad Jacks (Kansas and Missouri)should be allowed to take food stamps as long as they follow the rules. ...read more
