The staff is very professional and courteous. Dr. Ciulla always asks about my family and takes time in explaining things. He has a very good bedside manner. The assistance his staff provides is top notch. I have been a patient of Dr. Ciulla since 1999, before he entered private practice. I was having a problem with one of my eyes and was referred to his partner, Dr. Dannis, at the Indiana University Medical Center. I did not have an appointment and Dr. Dannis was not available. So, Dr. Ciulla saw me, determined that I had a detached retina and performed surgery immediately. He saved my vision. Down through the years I have had problems with my eyes including a detached retina in my other eye.

I saw my eye Dr. on the evening of 12/22/14 and he determined that I had a detached retina and needed some immediate attention. His office called a couple of places and they could not see me until mid January. They called Dr. Ciulla's office and the said they could work me in the next morning at 10:20. Dr. Ciulla determined that I would need surgery to repair the damaged retina. They checked the availability of the rooms used for surgery and they were all booked up. They were willing to schedule me as a add on at the end of the day when a room became available and they thought it should around 5:30 p.m. As we all know we do not live in a perfect world and some of the surgeries ran a little long. I was prepped and taken back for surgery at 7:00 p.m. Surgery was a great success. Thanks so much to Dr. Ciulla and his staff they had a very long day making sure I got the care I needed..I am sure they were all anxious to get home and start celebrating the holidays with family. Much heartfelt appreciation to all involved!

Eye doc found detached retina on Friday evening. Dr. Cuilla called me at home that evening. He gave clear instructions on what I needed to do and asked me to meet him at the office Saturday morning (when they are close). We met, he decided I needed surgery, presented information, answered my questions and did surgery. He met me again on Sunday to review my eye, answered questions. Mid-week I had issues, they made same-day appointment to help. Wait time was a bit long but they were available when I needed help. Called several different days with questions. Always received a return call that day. Treated very well and help was provided. Next follow-up they were patient and answered all my questions. Grateful for my returned vision and the doc's willingness to help when needed. His nurses were very helpful, too!
