Richard and Nancy Niethammer started the original business, Niethammer Trucking, Inc., at their home on Willis Road in Saline and operated in that location for 20 years. In 1988, Richard and Nancy's son, Robert, and his wife, Gwen, took over operation of the business and moved to the company's present location on Michigan Avenue. A third generation joined the business when Robert and Gwen's daughter, Beth, and their son, Rob, began working in the early 2000s. Hammer Trucking, Inc. was formed in 1995 and operates today as the service company for all material deliveries.
