We came across this Italian restaurant called Nonna Lisa’s. In Mackinaw City MI. Even know the place was packed I couldn’t believe the speediness of the kitchen. The menu was moderately priced for an Italian restaurant. I had the Tuscan Chicken it was off the hook, super moist chicken with sautéed onions and peppers in a creamy sauce. My friend ordered the wood fired pizza as he ravied about how good it is I had to try a bite, it was some of the best pizza I have ever tasted. They offer many items on their menu even a children’s menu. The ambience was breath taking. This Italian restaurant has a northern touch, there is even a water fall, but why not we are in Northern Michigan and the service was second to none. I just want to say, after reading other reviews the people who wrote them are nuts, there is no possible way those reviews are true. We came in for dinner, was almost squished between the jukebox and an unpleasant view of the kitchen. After trying to move the table to create enough room for our family of 4 to squeeze in, our hostess decided to move us out front. At first no one was there and it seemed ok. Then after ordering our food, a huge group of 30+ teenage girls filled the room. It sounded like a high school cafeteria, and my wife and I had trouble talking with one another across the table. The waiter was frequently busy with the group and didnâÂÂt bother to check on us. Then after mentioning the problem we were offered an apology but thatâÂÂs about it. No offer to move or anything. Then, when our check arrived I asked to speak to the manager who again apologized in an insincere manner stating that the hostess was to tell everyone about the group (which she didn't) made it almost seem like it was our fault our dinner was ruined. ...read more
