Luzerne is an unincorporated community and it serves most of the western portion of the township as well as small areas in the southern part of Greenwood Township. Major attractions include Luzerne Park, Oscoda County Park and US Forestry Department. The biggest schools here are Mio-Ausable High School, Fairview Area Schools and Schools: Kirtland Community College. One of the best places to visit when you are in Luzerne is Luzerne Park.
