About Winthrop, ME
Winthrop is located in Kennebec County, Maine and is known as one of the state's leading recreation areas. Major attractions in Winthrop are its plethora of lakes and ponds. Every year in August, Winthrop hosts a sidewalk art show that features oil paintings, watercolors, photographs and other works of art from area artists. Local businesses include Cameron Electric, Camp Yukon Cottage, and Generations Home Improvement. Winthrop High School is the largest school in town and was recently named as one of Maine's top schools. When visiting Winthrop, be sure to check out the Hodgdon Island Preserve.
