Operating expenses can add up quickly and many business owners are frustrated with their monthly credit card processing bills. They are so complex and very hard to understand even when experienced agents look at them. Today we’re going to go over a few ways to help business owners reduce credit card processing fees that are rarely mentioned and can make a big impact. The Correct Billing Address Will Help Save Money Without even calling your current payment processor you can learn a way to save hundreds if not thousands of dollars per year on unnecessary surcharges. AVS (Address Verification Service aka Address Verification System) is often over looked when manually entering in a credit card sale and costs between 20 (.20%) to 150 (1.50%) basis points in surcharges. That means if your business did $500,000 dollars for the year in credit card sales and twenty five percent of that volume was surcharged on unmatched AVS then it could cost a business $250 to $1,250 per year. As painful as it may be to get the right billing address this will save your business quite a bit of money. What Matters In AVS?
