About Cambridge, MD
Cambridge is the largest city in and the county seat of Dorchester County, Maryland. In the late 19th century, the city developed a food processing industry canning oysters, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes. At one time the Philips Packing Company was the city's largest employer. In 2002, the city's economy was boosted by the opening of Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort, which has a golf course, spas, and a marina. Major attractions here include a variety of fishing piers, boat launches, parks and marinas. Famous people with ties to the city include escaped slave and activist on the Underground Railroad Harriet Tubman and NFL star Antwan Lake.
