According to GIBBS ADS: GAF MASTERELITE CONTRACTOR... This is a credential that is earned and awarded by GAF. GIBBS Roofing is NOT a MASTERELITE CONTRACTOR and can NOT offer the GOLDEN PLEDGE warranty... NOT EVEN CLOSE. GAF LINK proving GIBBS is NOT a MASTERELITE. http://www.gaf.com/Roofing/Residential/Contractors/Search GIBBS Roofing has been caught in Wareham, Marion and Mattapoisett NOT pulling Building Permits and has been reported to the STATE of MA Dept of Public Safety. Why NOT pull building permits? There are many reasons: You need insurance to pull permits, valid licenses, documented personnel, etc... Why GIBBS chooses NOT to pull permits is anyone's guess. NOT pulling permits PUTS THE CUSTOMER AT HUGE PTENTIAL RISK !!! GIBBS advertises as "New England's #1 Roofing Company"... There is NO such award or presentation. This is simply self-promotion... and false promotion. And, you might want to pay attention to the post below "phony contractors licenses". If you had your roof done for "cash", no-building permit, lot's of guys on the job, fell for the GAF MASTER ELITE "BS" and thought you were getting a "50 Year Roof Warranty" (which is about as ambiguous as it gets (material is rated 50 years/workmanship is 25) that can ONLY... ONLY be offered by a MASTER ELITE contractor (link to GOLDEN PLEDGE is http://www.gaf.com/Residential_Roofing/Shingles/Golden_Pledge_Limited_Warranty.pdf) then you are a victim. ... and, Are (our/sic) prices are better then (than/sic) other company's (companies/sic)" ... Then it depends on what you truly are led to believe as a consumer. There are many qualified residential contractors in the area that possess that which they earned, abide by the law and serve the consumer in a professional manner... GIBBS Roofing is NOT one of them.
