Northfield is a part of the Franklin County region/Springfield metro area of Massachusetts know for being a filming location for such movies as "In Dreams" (1999) and "The Cider House Rules" (1999). Major attractions include Northfield Mount Recreation Center and Northfield State Forest . Each year in the spring season there is the Franklin County Fair.
