About Brighton, MA
Brighton is a neighborhood in the northwest corner of Boston, Massachusetts. It is named after the English town and was a part of Cambridge, Massachusetts for 160 years but broke off in 1807 and became part of Boston in 1874. Brighton has a number of public schools including Brighton High School. Parts of Boston University and Harvard are also located in Brighton. 36% of residents use public transportation to get to work. Attractions include Chandler's Pond, the Brighton-Allston Heritage Museum, Harvard and Boston University. Famous residents include the Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg and author Dennis Lehane.
