Lost Canyon Resort

The cabins are dirty and most ammenities are older than 30 years. The owner was very rude and he himself was unkept ( hair dirty clothes old). He was just as his place is dirty and in disrepair. Stay somewhere else you will be much happier.

Cabin had one bathroom and slept eight. All beds sag to the middle and your feet are elevated higher than your head. This is due to the crooked floors that leave you feeling like you drank too much. This place should be torn down. The (male) owner was rude and lied too us. We had two cabins rented for a week and walked away to a motel in Gunnison. The owner did not care that the appliances were older than me (50) while his residence had new appliances nor did he care that the indoor/outdoor carpet was very dirty and old mite as well been a dirt floor. This is a place that is in bad shape and will eventually cease operations - seen it many times before. You would be better off in a tent outside with the bears than in this musty place.

Although the cabins are older, we had a wonderful time. We were there the second week in October. Management was very responsive to our needs (offered an upgrade to a cabin with a fireplace, which we declined because of an allergy to smoke). The resort is right on the Gunnison River - good fishing on the grounds, and also close to both the Taylor and East River (and Roaring Judy Hatchery for the salmon run in the fall). We'll be back next year in late September instead of October.
