About Minden, LA
Minden is a city in and the parish seat of Webster Parish Louisiana. One of the city's largest employers is the Coca-Cola distribution center, owned by the Hunter Family, and has been in operation since the 1960's. Students living in the city attend the Webster Parish School District. Also located in Minden are the Northwest Louisiana Technical College, The Louisiana Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary and the private Glenbrook School.Major attractions in Minden include the Griffith Memorial Stadium, Turner's Pond, The Minden Recreation Center and the Dorcheat Historical Association Museum. Famous people with ties to the city include country singer Hank Williams, Jr, who married Billie Jean Jones Eshliman here, and Louis Dunbar, a former Harlem Globetrotter.
