ZERO STAR IS WHAT THEY NEED!! I am in the US Navy & was traveling through Metairie, LA, had a flat tire-a nail in it - took the tire off and went into the store, which closes at 5:00 p.m. & was told they could not help me - I would have to come back in the morning - I was 3 1/2 hours away from base & had to report in by 7 a.m. There were at least 4 guys standing around doing nothing and not one of them could help me. Goodyear is a tire store - a simple plug would only take a tire specialist a few minutes, but could definitely be fixed within 45 minutes. They told me to go to the other tire store, Firestone. Firestone did the same thing to me so I went back to your Goodyear store - it was about 4:40 p.m. and the store was CLOSED. This is terrible customer service but more than that, it's terrible human behavior. Common courtesy would have made most men take a few minutes to help out another person. I defend their freedom and they can't even take 10 minutes to help me out. ...read more

After purchasing 4 Michelin tires from Jimmy Duckworth within the last year, I returned last week to have him check out an odd noise and shimmy I was feeling, possibly from one of the back tires. He asked that I leave it so that he could test drive it and determine if it was a tire problem or mechanical. After leaving it with him overnight, he told me he refused to look at it or test drive it because he could tell someone else had worked on it recently. A speed sensor was replaced a month before, but was not at all related to the new problem. With a very sarcastic tone, he told me that i needed to find one person to work on my car. I had never heard of such a thing. I find it hard to believe that all of the cars in his shop have only been worked on by him. I will never return or recommend this shop to anyone. ...read more

Don't gamble your safety by messing around with cheap plugs. When you hear that "click click click" of a nail in your otherwise perfectly good tire - get your tires patched. If they are old get them replaced. The Metairie Road Shop across from the library works till four but everytime I showed up they helped me out and got my tire patched and me underway in about 20 minutes for under 25 bucks. ...read more

I brought my car there on Friday to have a catalytic converter changed out and $1200 later, I get a car with a "Service Engine Soon" light, and a warped driver's door. I have a 4 inch by 2 inch gash of warped metal right above the the door handle. It almost looks like they put a blow torch to it and it melted. It's blatantly clear they tried to pry the metal back in place with pliers. I certainly didn't bring it in that condition. They refuse to pay for the fixing of the door because "that's how I brought it in". Lucky for me, my husband went to an auto body shop and had them look at it and give their two cents. They told us they see this same damage all the time and that they lifted the car with the door ajar. If the damage was any older than a couple days, it would be rusted. It sleighs me that business owners take advantage of people like this. Oh, and the owner, he's a real peach to deal with, let me tell you. People like this should not be allowed to service the public. ...read more

These guys do good work and have fair prices. Period. I've used them for years. I think the truth lies in between the two reviewer before me. First, I don't think you can get a accurate review from a family member of the business... The main guy over there is a total grouch and lacks personal sklills - the thinigs we've come to expect in 2007. I dislike places we're people give you attitude for giving them your business. There are plenty of other place to give my money to. BUT, it is a freaking garage and this is New Orleans/ Metairie for Pete's sake. You can't order a meal without a side of "bad attitude" ...read more

This is by far the most amazing friendly family owned business that I have ever been to!! I love the Duckwoth family, and my Grandfather started this business. I think that whaever loser wrote the bad review on the front page is a total jurk and has probably never even been to Duckworth and Smith Tire Co. I had the worst experience here at Duckworth Tires located at 1009 Metairie Road. Avoid going to this place at all cost! I can honestly say this place delivered by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced in any industry. The owner/manager was so unbelievably rude and disrespectful to his customers, I was thoroughly disgusted and left the establishment. I would not recommend this tire place to my worst enemy! ...read more
