About Versailles, KY
Versailles, part of the Lexington-Fayette metro area, is a city in and the county seat of Woodford County, Kentucky. Versailles is a center for horse breeding and home to many farms. Major attractions here include the Bluegrass Scenic Railroad and Museum and the Woodford Reserve. Students living in the city attend the Woodford County Schools. Woodford Christian School and the Versailles Montessori School are also located here. Some of the scenes from the movie Elizabethtown were filmed here, and the city was the setting for the movie Dreamer:Inspired by a True Story. Famous people with ties to the city include actors William Shatner and Edwar Platt.
