About Salyersville, KY
Salyersville is a city in, as well as the county seat, of Magoffin County, Kentucky. Students here attend the Salyersville Public Schools which consist of a high school, one middle school and two elementary schools. There are numerous attractions located in the city. There are many historical markers such as the First Settlement, Ivy Point Skirmishes, and Reuben Patrick's grave. There are two parks located in Salyersville, Pioneer Village and Ramey Memorial Park. The city is also host to many annual events including the Independence Day Festival, the Street Dance, and the Founder's Day Festival. The city and the surrounding area have long been burdened by poverty. The city is currently working to bring more businesses, thus more employment opportunities, to the area.
