New Liberty is located in Owen County, KY surrounded by I-75, I-71 and I-64 and less than an hour's drive from Lexington, KY, Louisville, KY and Cincinnati, OH. The county was named after Abraham Owen who lived from 1769 to 1811 and was born in Prince Edward County, Virginia. In 1785 he moved to Kentucky and he fought in several wars with the Indians. Owen was also part of the Kentucky Legislature in 1798, and a member of the State Constitutional Convention in 1799. Local businesses include Owen County Frame and Stewart Glenn Repair.
