Mount Sterling is a part of the Mount Sterling Micropolitan Statistical Area and it belongs to the Montgomery County in the Kentucky State. The city is known for its registered historical places and the historical monuments of the city. Lately, the city has become famous because of the organization of Equestrian Games to be held from September 25th to October 10th. Major attractions of the city include Ruth Hunt Candy Factory and Gateway Center for the Arts. The Gateway Center of Arts was established in 1885 and today it serves as the center of Performing Arts and Stage Acts. The city celebrates the Court Day festival annual during the falls season. The Mt. Sterling-Montgomery County Library is the biggest employer of the city and it employs 20 percent of the people of the city. The city is served by the Montgomery County Public Schools and the biggest schools of the city are Montgomery High School and J.B. McNabb Middle School.
