To get the most from my flexible spending, I had LASIK in one eye in December and a month later in January in other eye. The staff was so helpful in helping me find all the medications I needed pre and post-op. They gave me prescriptions for the generic versions of the medications I needed so that I could save some green (and a bunch of free samples too!!) The staff was always very nice and friendly. My friends always ask me if the surgery hurt and I always say, "Not at all." And I mean it. The only thing is that when he puts the machine on your eyes, you do feel some pressure. But even that only lasts for a few seconds. The laser part takes a few seconds and the whole surgery is only 10 minutes long. There are some restrictions and precaution which the staff explains to you about protecting your eyes afterwards for a few weeks as the flaps heal. I had been thinking about LASIK but putting it off for years and years even though my eyes were in horrible shape. I had BIG TIME astigmatism in both eyes and my eyes have always been soooo DRY.  I couldn’t even wear the daily disposable contacts.  I admit I had abused them when I was young and foolish thru my 20's but still didn't look into Lasik until my mid 30's due to fear! Dr Dudee became my eye doctor when the ER at Central Baptist referred me to him after I had an eye injury at work. I picked up a brochure on LASIK and went in for a free consultation a few weeks later which was very thorough and took an hour or two. I was a borderline patient, my corneas were thin, but Dr Dudee came up with a treatment plan that left plenty of margin for safety and corrected my vision so I only need reading glasses now and then.The staff is very friendly and Dr Dudee was very up front about the potential downsides of the surgery making sure I understood every aspect.  When the surgery was done, I could see!   My vision steadily improved. Dr Dudee is a very caring and informed doctor who clearly knows pediatric ophthalmology. My son did not get the correct diagnose of his condition until he saw Dr Dudee . Other ophthalmologists didn't know what he had and even referred him for a scan. Dr Dudee knew what it was right away and explained it to us very clearly. Personal circumstance kept me from being a truly regular customer. I've only used Peck's service a few times in the last ten years, yet I can remember details of each visit. Peck Opticians let me draw the unusual lens shape I wanted on a plastic lens and then custom cut lenses to go in a rimless frame. They were cut exactly how I wanted for no extra charge. One lens chipped shortly after I got them and they replaced it for no charge. Several years later, the glasses frame got munched pretty badly and they straightened them out for me - again for no charge! ...read more
