About Brandenburg, KY
Bradenburg is a city located in Meade County Kentucky. Located along the Ohio River, Bradenburg is the county seat. It is the only city in the whole state that has a Main Street that leads directly to a river. The city's historic downtown district is located between two high cliffs and is where General John Hunt Morgan and his troops crossed the river in 1863. The house where Morgan watched his men cross the Ohio still stands. In 1974, it was almost completely destroyed by a tornado, but was rebuilt to it's original state. Other attractions here include Buttermilk Falls Historic Trauks, the Matthew Welch Bridge, Bradenburg Riverfront Park, Doe Valley Golf Club, the Meade County, Fair, and the Day at the Races event. There are two industrial parks located in the city, The Old Ekron Road Industrial Park and the Bill Corum Industrial Park. Among the city's biggest employers are ARCH Chemical, Meade County School Systems, Medco Center and the Bradenburg Telephone Company.
