Great Panda Buffet & Grill

On my goodness. The owner's behavior while I was dining for lunch today was absolutely unbelievable. While I was approaching the beverage machine I witnessed the owner berating a father for accidentally leaving the ice cream maker in the dispensing position. I spoke up asking the owner to remember who the customer was, that mistakes happen and if he kept up the behavior he would lose two customers today. He immediately informed me I was no longer welcome there.\t\n\t\nOnce my family had finished our lunch and were exiting he reminded us that we were not welcome to return. Furthermore, he said (quote) ... how I talk to customers is none of your business ... to which I reminded him I also was his customer. He quickly spun out of control, demanding I leave and calling my family a bunch of morons followed by the word rednecks. I simply replied with the words good luck (exact words exchanged folks).\t\n\t\nI simply could not believe how this guy handled himself. I was absolutely shocked. I may approach the place again in the future with video camera in hand as words simply can not describe how poorly this guy handled himself.\t\n\t\nNeedless to say, we don't recommend this place. He has been there the few times we've gone which makes me believe he's not making enough to fund a management position. If he continues to interact with customers he's going to kill his business.\t\n\t\nIf you do go, good luck. He's hard to miss. ...read more

Shogun Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

1.0

We bought a 2012 Entertainment Book, which Shogun is listed in, and we thought we would try them out. \t\n\t\nFirst of all, the ad in Entertainment states buy one dinner entree and get the second entree at a discount (up to $19); the only thing this excludes is sushi and bento. \t\n\t\nWe ordered two dinner entrees: one was the shrimp and scallops with fried rice; the other was sashimi. The scallops were slice in half, possibly in thirds, to the point that they were as thick as a quarter; and only six to eight total, so really about 3 real scallops. The shrimp was meager as well. This dinner was almost $25 with the fried rice. The sashimi didn't come with anything on the side, no rice, noodles, or anything. This was almost $20. In addition, we ordered a squid salad for almost $5, a Sapporo beer, and an ice tea. Our total bill was $62. \t\n\t\nWe handed out Entertainment card to the waitress, and she advised us it would not be valid on our order because we did not order two dinner entrees: she stated the sashimi was excluded because it was sushi. For one, sashimi and sushi ARE NOT THE SAME THING. Just because it is raw does not make it sushi. Sushi has vinigered rice while sashimi does not. So despite the advertisement, we had to pay the full $62, not to mention the food was mediocre to say the least. The only good thing was the server was decent. \t\n\t\nWe will not be back; I plan on contacting Entertainment to have them contact Shogun. Good God! They are a Japanese restaurant for goodness sake! Shouldn't they know the difference between sushi and sashimi! ...read more
