JCPenney - Closed

Couldn't be less happy with this jewelry department's inability to size a watch. We purchased a watch a week ago. We were on our way to the register with some bedding and my boyfriend was glancing at watches. The sales lady walked over and said, "You can get an extra 10% if you open a Penny's card." I replied, "Oh, I already have one." To which she said, "Did you know you can have up to five?" WHAT!? I applied, but still, WHY would a company allow you to have up to FIVE store cards? Is this normal? So, regardless, I applied, got approved, and we purchased our watch and bedding. We were in a hurry to pick up our kids from school, so we left. The following day, he returned because the watch was too big and needed to get it sized. To which they replied, "We cannot do that, nobody here knows how to." I"m sorry, but these associates are working in a jewelry department and nobody knows how to size a watch?! This is a simple task that I could've done if they'd just allowed us to use their tool, but they refused. They said we had to come back when someone else was there. So we did, twice. And neither time could they assist us... ON A WATCH THEY SOLD! So, finally a third time we returned and again, they could not size the watch, so we returned the watch, and spoke to the store manager, who told us that someone would be there tomorrow who could size the watch and that she'd give us an extra 10% off, so we repurchased - left the watch at the store and awaited a call (today). They called and informed us THEY STILL COULD NOT SIZE THE WATCH. And we would have to wait until Saturday. At this point, we got the Relic watch EXTREMELY cheep, so we picked it up, left the store and went to a competitor and in minutes, had it sized and we were on our way. This woman at the competitor store even said, I am really not supposed to do this, I could lose my job, but HELPED us anyway! SO _ DO NOT BUY JEWERLY from this Penny's location, particularly watches, as they don't know anything about them, other then how to ring 'em up and collect their commission.

I think Penny's is great.. I was happy to exchange items without a hassle, I needed to look at pillows, spreads,etc in the bedroom with the natural light of my home. I am so pleased. Your product lines are a high end look without over pricing and I always look for the discounts to bring the prices down, I hadn't shopped at Pennys for a long time. You have me back as a loyal customer.I have passed the word along to my friends who are shopping to redo their home decor as part of Spring Cleaning and updating. Thanks Aida. jm
