About Shoals, IN
The town of Shoals, named for its location at a shallow place in the river, is located on the White River in Martin County, Indiana. Major attractions within minutes of Shoals include the Spring Mill State Park Pioneer Village, which dates back to the early 1800's and the Indiana Railway Museum, where you can take a 20-mile train ride. Each year in June, the Catfish Festival is held here. One of the best places to visit when you are in Shoals is the nearby, Glendale State Fish and Wildlife Area, with 8,060 acres of land and over 1,400 acres of lakes and impoundments and where you can enjoy activities such as camping, fishing, hunting and wildlife viewing.
