About Owensville, IN
Owensville is a city in, and the county seat of, Gibson County, Indiana. Students here attend the South Gibson School Corporation which includes the Owensville Community School, serves k-8, and the Gibson Southern High School for grades 9-12. Almost all of the businesses in Owensville are family owned businesses. The only exceptions are a Mount Carmel based gas company, an insurance chain, and a Dollar General. Fort Branch, located north of Owensville, is home to the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana Plant and the Gibson Generating Station, which are the two biggest employers of the city's residents. Famous people with ties to Owensville include radio broadcaster Max Armstrong and Minor League baseball player Eric Campbell.
