About Zion, IL

The city of Zion is located in the Lake County of Illinois. The city was founded by John Alexander Dowie in July 1901. The city is one of the few cities in the world to have been completely planned before building. It was modeled after the Union Flag by Dowie. The population was 22,866 as per the 2000 census and the per capita income was $17,730. The city has a total area of 8.2 square miles. Each year in the summer season, the Annual Nostalgia Days festival is held here which is a 3-day carnival. One of the best places to visit when you are in Zion will be Zion Ballpark, which is scheduled for opening in May 2010. Famous persons from Zion include Richard Bull, actor, and Juan Moreno, two-time Olympic silver medalist in Taekwondo in 1988 and 1992.

He was working on a house across the street and unknown to me my 3 small children under 4 had my car alarm and were honking the horn. He comes angrily banging on my door. Barking at me if they don't stop I'm going to call the police. I asked why are you calling the police? He told me they where honking he horn for 10 minutes... Ok, its been 5 minutes or less since we have been home, I'm sorry they have upset you so. He was very unhappy, rude and I would never hire someone that miserable. THE 6 KEYS TO GET THE DECISION MAKER

NOTE: IT’S ALL IN THE APPROACH, IF SOMEONE BELIEVES YOU ARE IMPORTANT, THEY WILL TREAT YOU DIFFERENTLY 1 – Use a calm and relaxed voice. Smile and confidently greet with energy and ease! Make sure you answer any question about the nature of your call with confidence and authority. 2 – Don’t use a script! A good gatekeeper will recognize it immediately and you will be shut down. Instead, plan your talking points but leave room for improvisation. Speak slowly and articulately. The Gatekeeper will notice if you are rushing through the call. 3 – Engage the Gatekeeper, learn their name. Write it down and use it while you speak to them. Be friendly, this will result in a positive attitude from the Gatekeeper the next time you speak. 4 – Don’t give out more information than is necessary. Remember, you are not selling to the Gatekeeper. You don’t need to go into detail with them, keep it simple! Tell them who you are calling for, do not ask if the decision maker is available. 5 – Do your research, approach with familiarity of the business and of the decision maker. Use the first name of the decision maker. Make it personal! If you don’t know who the decision maker is, ask the Gatekeeper. A simple question of, “Who is in charge of…” can hep immensely.
