About Ottawa, IL
Ottawa is the county seat of LaSalle County, Illinois and is located on the Illinois River. Ottawa was the site of the first of the Lincoln-Douglas debates of 1858. Some larger employers in the town are Pilkington Glass Works and Sabic. Ottawa Township High School is the largest in the town. Ottawa hosts an annual Riverfest. Area attractions include the Norsk Museum, the Ottawa Scouting Museum, and Washington Park. Famous residents include writer Alexander Wilson and congressman William Cullen.
