About Milan, IL
Milan is a city located in Rock Island County, Illinois. It is located near the Quad cities of Iowa and Illinois. It is on the Rock River in the northwest part of the state. The city is the site of campsites which made up the Sauk and Fox village of Saukenuk, which was at one time the second largest Native American inhabitation on the continent. Schools here include Rock Island High School, Thurgood Marshall Learning Center, Alleman High School, Earl Hanson Elementary School, and Rock Island Intermediate Academy. The city is also home to the Milan Recreational Path, a community center and several city parks such as Camden Park which is where the city holds it's July third fireworks. It also has a sled riding hill, an eighteen hole disc golf course, and softball fields.
