Stan's Steak House

I live in Findlay and have given Stans many chances to live up to the hype everyone gives them. 3 occasions led to the same thing. Terrible food. Luke warm cottage cheese, overcooked bland veggies, disgusting tasting meat. Im not some high class food connoisseur i just expect a decent meal when i pay the kind of money they charge. Save your money and look for a restaraunt in shelbyville or sullivan. ...read more
Flag City Water Systems Kinetico
By Joe December 09, 2009
I recently stopped by the Flag City office and requested a service call for my pond water treatment. I advised that they had installed the unit 10 years ago and I wanted it completely checked out. The courteous tech came out when scheduled and corrected issues I had with the iodine injection system. However, he told me I should have the carbon filter media changed every 3 to 5 years. He quoted a price and I told him to go ahead and change the media. He advised it took two techs to do it plus he didn't have the materials with him. So I get hit with two service calls when it should have been one. I made payment at the end of each service call. After the second service call I received a phone call that advised that I had been undercharged and to expect an additional bill. The techs do a fine job but it appears management needs to do a better job of customer service training. There is no way two trips to my home were necessary. ...read more
Stan's Steak House
By Catherine October 05, 2009
Limited resturant selection and poor quality steaks caused me to look outside in Mattoon / Chaleston, IL for dinner with my sons during EIU Family Weekend. Findley was about a 30 minute drive through a rural area. However, the meal was well worth the drive. I had a very tender and well seasoned prime rib along with grilled shrimp, green beans, and a baked potato. The shrimp were smaller than expected, but well prepared. My sons each had rib eye. Each were pleased with the flavor and preparation. They enjoyed very tasty waffle fries and crab legs. The wait staff was very pleasant and helpful. The owners' young son even stopped by to check on us. The waitress recommended dessert of pie which my sons enjoyed ~ one peach and the other chocolate cream. The crust was flakey and the right thickness. The peach was well prepared. The chocolate was excellent. The 16 year old said it tasted like "hot chocolate with whipped cream"! Total bill with tip $78.00 !! ...read more
