Welcome to one of our online sides of our Half Moon Hobbies showroom. We had an idea..... I love vintage things, the warm sound of a tube type Vox amp, movies from the 20's-50's, and those hole in the wall hobby shops that had all the neato stuff you'd never dream of seeing in the chain stores because the numbers weren't there for the "big timers". The cosmic forces were with us, and we found this wonderful 1870's building, and we set up our jewelry store on one side of the showroom and started building our dream hobby shop on the other side. With my all-night searches for the unusual, and my Jackie's daring business sense and devotion to customer service, Half Moon Hobbies is flying. We thank the many modelers all over the world who lifted us off the ground, and a special thanx to Pavel Krejci in the Czech Republic, and John Garcia in Florida, both for sending us some of the finest kits in the world, and for being there from the first vision. Family
Beck and I (Jacqueline) own and operate Creston Family Jewelers and Half Moon Hobbies on Maple Street in as is said “BEAUTIFUL UPTOWN CRESTON”. It truly is beautiful to us especially on snowy days and nights. Beck really loved watching the snow plows clear Maple Street. We only came home when we moved from Florida to Creston. Beck was born in Iowa and I have distant family and friends all over Iowa. Shelly and John Cook, Beck’s sister and brother-in law, are still wondering about our sanity for taking on the project of remodeling our old building. We just tell everybody it is progressing at its own speed. Beck’s Grandmother Opal Goodale in Diagonal is just glad he is home. Our building is home to us, two storefronts, three e-Bays stores, four web sites, our cats and dogs and plants. We have almost 20,000 sq. feet and at times, it is frustrating to decide what goes where. We are happy and we hope to make other people the same with our jewelry and hobby stores.
