Plumber Adelaide

Mr Emergency Plumbing Plumber Adelaide modern plumbing system is taken for granted and easy to neglect. Most people only worry about plumbing when a problem arises, with preventative methods of regular servicing and maintenance haphazardly attended to. It’s therefore easy to see why a plumbing emergency can happen at any time of the day or night. If it’s minor enough calling the plumber can probably wait until the following morning, but this is not always the case! Often it is the most inconvenient problems that occur on weekends, public holidays or overnight like the septic tank bursting and flooding, that needs to be fixed without delay. It’s times like this that a 24 hour plumber is a godsend. http://www.mremergencyplumbing.com.au/plumber-adelaide/Most plumbers providing a 24 hour service recognise the benefits to their business. Although it’s not ideal having to repair a leaking pipe on a Saturday night, the customer appreciates the plumber’s speedy presence (usually within an hour of the call-out) and flexibility in working hours. Sometimes a call-out to a 24 hour plumber may not even be an emergency. If the homeowner is unable to be in attendance in the usual Monday to Friday 9-5 time slot, this is a solution in getting the job done as conveniently as possible and certainly worth the higher call-out fee and hourly rate to do it. Mr Emergency PlumbingPlumber Adelaide who are also qualified to do basic gasfitting are in further demand for their 24 hour services as it is more often than not a gas emergency which requires a quick turnover rate, due to the risk to public health and safety for those who reside in the dwelling and neighbouring properties. A 24 hour plumber has a fully equipped work van with ample lighting equipment to be able to tackle all the usual jobs when visibility is low at night time. If the job is extensive, it may be that it has to be held over until the following morning, but a temporary on the spot fix can be undertaken to ensure no further issues will eventuate in the meantime. For the customer this gives peace of mind, knowing a professional has assessed the dilemma and has the skills and experience needed to best remedy the problem. So if the toilet decides to back up and won’t flush on Christmas day or the kitchen tap breaks off during Grandmas birthday dinner party, get it fixed fast by calling your local 24 hour plumber. It’s as easy as picking up the phone! ...read more

The Best Things about Hot Water Heater Replacement

With a bang not a whimper is the way mostHot Watergive up the ghost. Being faced with the misfortune of having no hot water in the short term is a bad prospect for any homeowner. However, with the impending cost and inconvenience involved in getting a hot water heater replacement, it can all be a big headache for the consumer. Thankfully it̢۪s not a regular problem as the average hot water heater only needs replacing approximately every ten to fifteen years. This is a relatively long life span for a product that serves such a great need daily and fulfils such an important duty. The hot water heaters of today are more streamlined, compact, quieter and less intrusive looking than their predecessors. When replacing a hot water heater (also referred to as a hot water system or HWS), there are numerous decisions to be made and shopping around to be done before employing the plumber (orGas Fitter) to install the new service. Things to consider are cost (initial purchase and installation price and long term running affordability), size of the unit and location of fit, capacity (which best relates to the number of inhabitants within a household), fuel source (gas, electric, heat pump or solar), energy rating (impact on the environment) and storage type (tank or instantaneous flow). The different fuel types for hot water heaters offer various pros and cons. Gas and electric units have long been the forerunners in hot water heating, but the tide is slowly turning. Gas relies on access to piped natural gas and is generally cheaper to run than electricity. Electric hot water heaters typical use a storage tank because the bottom of the tank houses the element which heats the water. The heat pump method is energised whilst simultaneously dehumidifying air. Using less energy to run, making for a more affordable and environmentally friendly choice, the heat pump hot water heater is especially suited to Australian conditions with a humid climate making for the best mode of operation. Solar is a win-win for the environment and the consumer. By tapping into the power of the sun, the reduction of greenhouse emissions from the daily heating of water is minimised. The solar tube collectors or familiar panels situated on north facing roof tops are noticeable but aesthetically sound. Solar hot water heaters are not totally self sufficient however, as they are dependent on a gas or electric boost to supplement the remaining 10-50% of hot water needs. ...read more

What to do about Leaking Taps before it’s too late?

A Leaking Tap can be an annoying inconvenience while seeming like such a little thing to call aPlumber Adelaidefor. Luckily fixing it is a snap so let’s start at the beginning. The most common issues causing the leakage are the O-ring breaking or becoming dirty and/or the washer wearing away. This happens with normal usage so getting replacements is easy. Just check out your local hardware/DIY/Plumbingsupply store. Washers can be rubber or brass. However, ultimately a washer is a washer and it will wear out, so the choice is yours as to which you want to use. You’ll see that there are different sizes and you’ll more than likely need a 12mm washer. 12mm are most commonly for indoor taps while 15mm are for outdoor. Also, heads up; it’s always an idea to check your state’s safety requirement first before attempting any DIY to be sure that your repair meets compliance standards. First things first, let’s turn off the water. Simple, yes, but effective. And logical. Turn the tap on before starting to ensure that all the water has been flushed out. And while we’re talking logic, it’s a good idea to put the plug in the sink to stop any pieces you need from disappearing down the drain. You need to remove the tap handle using the button which is usually hiding under your taps HOT and COLD indicators. You can use a spanner to gently remove the button handle at the very top. The tap covering is called the flange. Depending on your tap, and how tenacious your flange is as to whether you need to need to use a wrench to remove it or not, you may want to use a cloth or towel when you unscrew it to stop scratches on the finish. Now you’ll find a couple of pieces that look like screws. The piece on top is called the tap bonnet and fits atop the other called the tap spindle or the jumper valve. At the bottom of the tap spindle/ jumper valve you’ll find the O-ring. Use a wrench or a spanner to unscrew thew tap bonnet and remove it to reach the tap spindle/jumper valve which will come out easily. Give everything a goos clean and replace the washer and/or the O-ring as necessary and reassemble the tap in the reverse order making sure you tighten everything firmly but not too tight to make your tap difficult to turn. Easy, huh? Leaking Tapexpense you money, as the amount of water lost can add up substantially over a period of time. If you turn off the tap ever more thoroughly, you are delaying the inescapable as the washer is just being further smashed by over constriction. Replacing a tap washer and O-ring to fix the trouble at the source is not difficult, if done detail by detail. ...read more
