ADVISE TO SAVE YOU MONEY !
The signs of a leaking roof is a stain on the cieling,walls,or water on the floor after a rain.
You can prevent this by checking your roof at least twice a year.
This allows you to see and correct any problems before water damage is visible.
On your interior you can check behind furniture,closets window seal, things you wouldn't ordinarily check.
To look in the attic you will need a flashlight to see, and chalk to mark any unusal stains or wet areas.
Check in the attic to see if you see any day light that shouldn't be there.
Look at the rafters sheating (decking) beams to see if you see any water stains.
Check all the roof penetration to include if you have a fire place for water stains.
On the exterior look for damage flashing, loose or missing shingles, sever granule loss and rot.
Your Roof Is The First Line Of Defense To Protect Your Interior
Warning Signs
Algae stains is a eye sore and can be corrected/treated.
Shingles on your roof missing is a invitation to moisture.
Buckling is a moisture problem with the water proofing agent.
Loss of granules shown in the gutters and down spouts indicates a problem, this weakens the roof during aging.
Curling indicates moisture and may be time to replace roof.
Blistering indicates moisture in that area.
Tree damage caused by trees touching roof.
The roof is a big investment and utill it is time to replace the roof the signs and steps above will save you a a lot of money in the long run.
