When I hire companies to work on my own home, and they describe themselves as "LBI," I often ask for EVIDENCE that they actually are licensed, bonded, and insured. I personally believe that a legit company will provide documents (or copies) immediately. Or within 24 hours. Be especially suspicious when a person's business card lists only a name and a cell phone. Why don't they list a business address? Are they in the yellow pages? Do they have a real business phone? Too often, otherwise smart folks buy a new kitchen faucet or even a plastic toilet seat based on the appearance of the items. It is wise to consider how one will maintain (clean) the objects. Many new faucets' cleaning instructions say the faucet should be cleaned with water only. My question is, how sanitary is that?
