The holidays are quickly approaching and I am already thinking of what I am going to cook for my family. Sure I will have parties to cook for but this is personal! Normally I go all the way with holiday cooking and eating and spare no calories. This year, I am committed to taking a different approach. I want to cook(and eat) some of these same culinary delights but without what I call the "thigh spread". "Thigh spread" is when a food is so good but so fattening that instead of eating it we should just smear it on our thighs. Cut to the chase the thighs are where it will end up anyway! But that's no fun. The main part of the experience of eating is savoring each morsel like its my last. So I intend on doing so but differently. I am going to take baby steps and I encourage you all to do the same. While I am not going to cut out my Grandmother's Potato Salad, or Mom's Pot Roast, I am going to be more aware of my portion sizes and insant replays.
