First off the Boat was Clean, The Mate was unlike any we had ever seen "Big Al" is the Best and did we catch fish nonstop action. Thanks to the Captain, Bruce is Unbelievable He told us that he would take us to speicial spot if we had some extra bait so we bought some and he did not disapoint. All of our RED SNAPPERS were over 15lbs then we got Groupers 8lbs to 15lbs also a box load of Beeliners, Whites and Triggers. The bait boy put all the bait on our hooks (which he paid for and bought fresh from a a boat out in the ocean which sells bait a few minutes after we left the shore), took the fish off, told us when we needed to pull, and how to actually fish out in the ocean, etc. Not only did we catch a lot of fish, but when we returned to the shore, the bait boy cleaned all the fish for us, packed the fish in huge baggies that they provided, put the fish on ice for us—all of which was all included in our initial fee. We had a wonderful fish fry upon returning to our hotel. We will have fish for months and have many incredible memories of a wonderful day of fishing which was the first deep sea fishing experience for our children. My family and I had a wonderful experience with Kick Back Charters in June 2009. While Captain Bruce was not our captain, he was the owner of the boat. One of the female captains and male bait boys that work for him chartered our trip. The boat was clean and the captain and bait boy were fun and professional. My husband, 8-year old son, 13-year-old daughter, my brother-in-law and I paid a flat fee of $600 for a 4-hour fishing trip. It did take some time to get out to a place where the fish were biting better. However, they did not try one stop and stay there. We tried several locations that the bait boy said he knew were good spots. Before our time limit was up, we had caught our limit of huge king mackerel fish. We were not charged for anything additional such as bait, etc. We were allowed to bring our own food and drinks on board . Please dont waste your time with these guys at Kickback. You will be disappointed. Went on an 8 hour trip with Bruce Wargo in August 09 and would have been much happier on a party boat. First thing: he nickle and dimes you to death for every little thing. Once on the boat, charges extra for bait or you can use the mini squares of squid. Second: For an 8 hour fishing trip, 6 hours was driving. It took him 3 hours to initially get to the hole. I couldnt tell if this was a fishing trip or a dolphin tour. Third and most important: he doesnt know how to put you on the fish!!! nuff said. You would have a much better/cheaper time giving your money to Captain Anderson. The party boat is crowded/lines get tangled but at least you come back with groceries. NEVER would I recommend Kickback Charters. Its your money....so...do what you do. ...read more
