Updates & tips from DMV Short-Cut
Las Vegas DMV Vehicle Registration Service
If you live in chances are that you have experienced the long lines at your local DMV. For those of you moving to you may want to continue reading. When I moved to I was pulled over for driving on expired tags. Frankly I just didn't have enough money to register my car after all the moving expenses.
The traffic stop made me late to work and worst of all it was Monday morning. Naturally my boss wanted to know why I was late to the meeting. When I told him, he just laughed and told me to get it taken care of. My co-workers also asked why I was late and proceeded to give me their advice on the Department of Motor Vehicles.
My co-workers told me to be prepared to wait in line at the Las Vegas DMV for three to four hours. I thought they were joking at first. Boy did I learn the hard way! Before I headed to the DMV I visited the local Department of Motor Vehicles website. I carefully gathered all the required documentation prior to my visit.
For extra precaution I even called the DMV to verify that I had all the required documentation. I had to wait on hold for 30 minutes before I got through to some one. After speaking with the DMV representative I felt fully prepared and asked for some time off work.
The Department of Motor Vehicles opened at 8am so I planned to arrive 30 minutes early to avoid the long lines. Four hours later I walked out of the Department of Motor Vehicles empty handed. So what went wrong?
I did my research to make sure I was fully prepared. I even arrived early to avoid the long lines. I thought I had everything! Technically I did have all the required documents but my evidence of insurance card had my old address on it. This experience was an absolute nightmare to say the least.
I decided there had to be a better way to deal with the Department of Motor Vehicles. I began searching the internet and discovered a number of different vehicle registration companies in that could go to the DMV for me.
The DMV vehicle registration service I chose came to my work, picked up all my documentation, went to the DMV for me, and returned the same day with my tags. This service was worth the extra money! I only wish I had known of these vehicle registration services before I made my first trip to the DMV.
The moral to my story is this, state law requires that you register your vehicle within 30 days of moving here. If you're pulled over or reported, fines and enforcement fees can total $1,100. I dislike waiting in line at the DMV just as much as anyone else. So if you want to avoid waiting in line at the Las Vegas DMV you should use a vehicle registration service.
