Denison is a part of the Sherman-Denison Metropolitan Statistical Area and it serves as one of the prominent cities of the Metro Region. It is located in the Grayson County and it is known for its old vineyards. The city was officially incorporated in 1872 and today it has become a historical city in Texas. The major attractions of the city include the twelfth largest man-made lake of USA, Lake Texoma and the sunny beaches of the Red River. The city was named after the Vice-President of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad Corporation. The city is served by the Denison Independent School District and Grayson County College is the most popular educational establishment of the city. Munson Stadium is the famous sports hub of the city and it is also a popular tourist place. Historic walking and driving tours are the other major activities of the tourists coming to the city.
