About Ortonville, MI
Ortonville is a part of the Oakland County region/metro area of Michigan, and is within the township of Brandon. As of the 2000 census, the population was1,535 and the village has a land area of about 1 square mile. Ortonville was founded by Amos Orton in 1848 and was incorporated as a village in 1902. Ortonville is part of the Brandon Township Public School System which includes 3 elementary schools, an intermediate school, a middle school, a high school, the Smithling Special Education Center, and the H.T. Burt Lifelong Learning Center.
