My daughter got a sweater for Christmas - as might be expected, there was no gift receipt provided. My daughter is allergic to wool so all I wanted to do was exchange it for something else. The store had no record of the transaction-( which is policy when someone buys something). They told me that the sweater was now on sale and they would only give me a $40.00 store credit for it instead of $80.00 - I understood that since I could not prove what the buyer had spent, it was the only fair option. The owner then told me that since I did not have the receipt and the sweater was now on sale that she could only pick something off the sale rack. I asked if my daughter could select something from other racks in the store she said "no". The owner said she was being flexible as it was. Does it really matter what rack the exchange comes from? The money is all going to the same place. I told her to forget it and I took the sweater back. Guess she doesn't want any future business from me ...read more
