About Silt, CO
The town of Silt, named for the region's fine soil, is located in Garfield County, Colorado and is considered as a gateway to numerous outdoor activities. Major attractions include Silt Historical Park, which celebrates Chautauqua Day in May and just 14 miles away, Glenwood Canyon, where visitors can go biking, rafting, fishing or hiking. Each year in July in New Castle, Colorado, about 10 minutes away, the Burning Mountain Festival is held. One of the best places to visit when you are in Silt is nearby, 2.3 million-acre White River National Forest, where you will find campgrounds, trails and many recreation opportunities.
