About Roots Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine, LLC

Did you know that acupuncture can treat insomnia, infertility, headaches, migraines, PMS, menopause, all pain, post-surgery recovery, fibromyalgia & more?

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a standardized (protocol-based) form of acupuncture that began after... the Cultural Revolution (1960's). During her studies of TCM, she was introduced to the ancient approaches to acupuncture & realized that True Acupuncture filled in the missing piece that TCM didn’t address. This “truer” root form of acupuncture was what Fuyiu imagined acupuncture to be.

For the patient, the results/benefits are tremendous. With a more individualized approach, detailed pulse taking & precise point location, the therapeutic results are maximized w/ minimal number of needles & treatments.

True Acupuncture takes care of, listens to, & understands the individual in his/her current state of health & is not about the application of theoretical protocols.

A Different Kind of Acupuncture

Did you know that there are many styles of acupuncture, so not all are the same?

The most common form seen in the US, and even in China, is TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). Contrary to popular belief, TCM is not thousands of years old! TCM is a form of acupuncture that came out of the westernization & standardization of acupuncture, when acupuncture was re-introduced into China in the 1940's (it was banned in China for a period of time). So when people say that TCM is 4000-5000 years old, this isn't true. Now, acupuncture is that old, but not TCM. Here's a great site with an accurate history of acupuncture..

So why am I pointing this out? Well, the style that I do - Classical True Acupuncture - brings back the ancient practices of acupuncture - the truly point-by-point individualized approach. With the different styles, one isn't better or worse per se, but I find that using the classical pulse diagnostics to truly understand YOU and why you're feeling the pain or fatigue that you're feeling, and then using each point to bring your pulses back to balance gets remarkable and longer lasting results. We all want to feel great, and stay that way right?

Acupuncture is effective in treating pain, symptoms of menopause, PMS, infertility, fatigue, fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, headaches & migraines, insomnia, digestive issues, rashes, and the list goes on and on. So when you get acupuncture, you need to be treated as the unique individual you are!

I encourage everyone to read more about acupuncture, the different kinds, and realize that your fatigue or depression is different from someone else's fatigue or depression. Acupuncture brings your body back into homeostasis, but can only do that if a practitioner knows how to follow your pulses.

Stay healthy!

Best of the Best!

Because of many health issues (Asthma, GERD, ADHD, Migraines and neck, spinal, back and sciatica problems), I have been a client of several acupuncturists over the past 29 years. Never have I found an acupuncturist that practices Classical True Acupuncture; I never even... knew there was anything other than the "Westernized" acupuncture available. One visit with Fuyiu Yip, and I am sold for life. Fuyiu listens to your body through many different pulses, and customizes each treatment for what your body needs at that very moment. She maintains a thorough health history, taking copious notes not only from your first visit, but before, during and after all treatments. She is intuitive, interested, compassionate and exacting in her acupuncture treatments - most of which require no more than 5 needles to achieve the desired result. Amazing! The treatment I have received from Fuyiu over the past year far surpasses any other I have ever had, and I know that if not for her I would not be alive.
