I came to Narconon in August 2010 for heroin dependency. Up to this point I truly believed that there was no hope for the future. I personally attended Narconon Vista Bay in 2003. I used heroin for 8 years prior to that and even tried 2 other rehabs to get straight. Vista Bay gave me the tools to actually live life without drugs and alcohol as opposed to just trying to stay abstinent. The big difference with Vista Bay is that your not labeled as an addict or an alcoholic. I can confidently say I am no longer either one. The staff are very interactive with the clients. They are friendly, respectful, understanding and passionate about their work. They take you into the folds of their family and treat you as such. Throughout my program I was able to fully detoxify my body, get myself centered and away from the negative effects of my past, take responsibility for all my transgressions and repair areas of my life that truly needed it. When I came to Narconon Vista Bay I was addicted to oxycotin. I have now been sober for a year and this would have never been possible without the help of the staff at Narconon. They are all willing and wanting to help you in whatever matter came up. The program taught me life skills that I could use and apply to my life to help me stay productive and ensure my sobriety. The sauna program that they offer helped me to get rid of any kind of drugs that were still in my body when I was finished I felt like a brand new man. This is by far the most effective program out there. I have been clean and sober for 7 years now, I am a successful businesswoman in a career I love and this is all due to the life skills and practical education I received at Narconon. In my experience at Narconon, there was little talk of drugs and of me whining about why I am the way I am (as I have experienced at other programs) but truly the main focus was stage-by-stage. First, I was focused on coming off drugs, without the use of other drugs. Then, I was focused on communicating more effectively with my counselors and peers. Then, it was all about achieving the physical foundation in which I could build my recovery on. Once I was physically rejuvenated (as I like to say) I could truly focus on the how I got here and the underlying issues that surrounded my drug use in the first place. I went through this program about 7 years ago and it was immensely helpful. I was truly broken when I entered this program and because of the kind, compassionate staff and the very informative and enlightening material I learned there, I was truly able to become whole again. It seems to me that most rehab centers focus solely on the goal of helping someone to achieve sobriety. At Narconon Vista Bay I learned that and so much more. The life skills stuff that they teach you here makes all the difference in the world. My son went through the Narconon Vista Bay program and graduated two years ago. He was using crystal meth for over five years and had been to two other drug rehabilitation programs before Narconon Vista Bay. He relapsed immediately after leaving those programs. Narconon offers an excellent program that takes a person from withdrawl, cleansing out all the drugs left in the body ,and then working on the person themselves as to why they would turn to drugs in the first place. \t\n The program takes approximatly 3 to 6 months to complete,but is one set price even if it takes longer,\t\n I sent my child here and would highly recommend it to anyone that is dealing with the pain of watching a loved one deal with addiction.
