A gallery devoted to the works of landscape photographer Timothy Wolcott opens Saturday, November 21 in The River Mall, Rancho Mirage, CA. Wolcott Gallery is the newest addition to the popular lifestyle mall and its only Fine Art Gallery. Timothy Wolcott is known for powerful images of the earth’s vast panorama-melting structures in Antarctica’s Iceberg Graveyard, Escalante’s vibrant and far ranging autumn vistas, and soft Monet-inspired images of light dappled ponds. A masterful technique honed since childhood combined with legendary patience deliver the visual imagery that takes comfortably to Mr. Wolcott’s signature 3’ X 4’ Evercolor format. (Evercolor is a pigment rich, green process that uses no harsh chemicals and is estimated to sustain original coloration for two hundred fifty years.) Addressing the dramatic format, Mr. Wolcott stated recently, “The new three-thousand square foot gallery in The River Mall allows my images room to breathe.” He hopes to see Wolcott Gallery become a destination for collectors across the Palm Springs Valley. Wolcott Gallery’s opening exhibition features over sixty prints from five series: Master Landscapes, Panorama, Antarctica, Simplicity, Black & White, and Beyond Landscape. Once he has a vista, he frames or draws the composition before affixing camera to tripod, Frequently, he shoots from a ladder. Mr. Wolcott’s philosophy is, “All images should be museum-quality.
